Could anyone provide any information about obtaining a mortgage for a mobile home that is specific to the state of Florida? My wife and I are looking nearing our retirement and looking to purchase a “getaway home”. I am very unsure about the financial implications and whether we can afford this type of thing or not, so any information would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Mobile homes can be tough. I felt lucky to get through one last year. An older single wide. Wells Fargo was the only game in town and even at that- we just squeeked by. A lot of pain but some gain as both parties got what they wanted.

I am suprised a mobile home is classified as a mortgage, isn’t there significant risk to the home due to it being mobile?

I sell decent of mobile homes every year and more often than not the buyers are not prepared for what they have to do to complete the buying process. So as a realtor it pays to be educated about mobile home sales.
